Description
Don't just join the pride - come learn about the history and culture of the LGBT community in Taiwan!
The New York Times once described Taiwan as the beacon of inspiration for Asia's gays. Taiwan is not only the place where the first Asian gay novel, the Crystal Boys (孽子), was published, but also where Asia's largest LGBT Pride takes place every year. The fact that Taiwan had been ruled by multiple countries leads to the senses of openness, diversity and tolerance that lie in our society.
This LGBT Tour starts with GinGin Store and Love Boat Shop, where you can find LGBT literature, magazines, DVDs/CDs, apparels and adult toys - basically everything you need for the rainbow life! Continue this liberating journey to 228 Peace Memorial Park and Ximen Red House, the iconic LGBT gathering places in the past and present. Join us as we unfold the once dark history of gay lives in Taipei as well as the steps taken to learn to embrace differences and respect others.
Togayther we make Taipei colorful!
